The second issue focuses on approaches to a sustainable nonprofit sector. Three interesting facets are explored both nationally and internationally. The issue starts with an interview with Anthony F. Pipa. He is an expert in the field of civil society and sustainability and is currently a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution. Anthony Pipa has extensive experience in policy work concerning sustainability. In the interview with Kathrin Loer, he shares his views on this important topic. The next article by Laura Altendorfer et al. is dedicated to the topic of artificial intelligence and its role in public relations for nonprofit organizations. The qualitative study examines to what extent AI can support NPOs in managing communicative challenges. Notably interesting is the demonstrated heterogeneity of the respondents concerning their level of digitalization. The potential of AI seems, in many cases, not yet fully tapped, particularly concerning the sustainable management of human resources. The article by Isabelle Bertram is a further development of her master’s thesis, which she completed in the Management in Nonprofit Organisations program. In her article, she addresses the topic of the economy for the common good and its application in German municipalities. The principle of the economy for the common good is an alternative accounting model in the German-speaking area, where common good-oriented and sustainable aspects play the primary role. Ms. Bertram investigates the extent to which this model might also be interesting for municipalities. With these diverse perspectives on nonprofit management, the JNMP launches into its second issue. We wish all readers an inspiring read!

Readers of JNMP can follow a lively discussion in this first issue: The editorial board introduces itself personally, discusses current phenomena from the world of nonprofit organizations, and focuses on future issues and challenges facing the sector - which will ultimately also be the subject of future issues. In addition, the article by Kimberly Vindas and Fernanda Costa Meneses Nunes presents current results from a study on the establishment of self-help networks among migrants in Germany. The authors address the question of what motives, goals, challenges and opportunities are associated with migrants founding their own organizations and how they support the integration process. In her best-practice article on "Good leadership practices of NGOs managers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic in Colombia", Mayra Martin Espinosa provides an insight into the leadership practices of NGOs in Colombia. In doing so, it arrives at differentiated insights into how these practices develop in times of crisis and, in particular, identifies a management dilemma for which it outlines various solution options. With these diverse perspectives on nonprofit management, the JNMP starts and opens the debate, which will then be further enriched in the coming issues in different facets from the various disciplines and fields of practice. We wish all readers a stimulating read!
