ROSE Graduate Program "Learning Health System"

The ROSE Graduate Program "Learning Health System" addresses all master students as well as doctoral students of the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences in health-related subjects. It offers a platform for methodological and professional exchange in the profile of health. The focus is on topics of health services research, the redesign of health care and its processes, and digitalization in health care. The research perspective is both interprofessional and professional and includes the newly academized health professions, especially nursing, therapy professions and midwifery, as well as medicine, pharmacy and psychology, among others. All research approaches presented and discussed in the ROSE Graduate Program aim to contribute to the best possible care for all patients. The Graduate Program is anchored in the research project ROSE - The Learning Health System in the Osnabrück - Emsland Region which offers all researchers at the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences related to health topics and cooperating institutions a space for joint discourse. The mission and vision of the ROSE Graduate Program is to stimulate creative and connected research processes and to promote innovative thinking for a Learning Health System. Promoting young researchers is the logical continuation of the Bologna Process, especially if it is understood to mean the possibility of further scientific qualification in the sense of a doctorate. The ROSE Graduate Program therefore links the transition from the master's degree to the doctorate and specifically promotes doctoral students to develop their skills and talents in order to be able to hold their own in national and international competition. In doing so, we do not see the doctorate as a qualification for an academic career alone. Rather, it is an expression of personal development combined with a self-motivated, intensive and persistent examination of a current topic. Especially in the health care sector, the doctorate enables access to higher and more responsible positions.

The ROSE Graduate Program is a unique institution of its kind at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. We are pleased that the VolkswagenStiftung and Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur in Hanover are making this possible."
